What type of jobs does SMS have available?
SMS works with leading employers and has opportunities in hospitality, security, light-industrial, manufacturing, logistics, administrative, and quality control. We also staff rapidly growing fields, including energy efficiency, skilled trades, and technical fields.
Do you provide training to your staff?
Yes! For example, we provide opportunities for you to become a TIPS-certified bartender, which many of our clients are looking to hire.
Do I have to pay for this service?
No, SMS never charges you, the job seeker, for our services. All fees are paid for by the client.
How do I sign up for employment with SMS?

Simply click on the applicants link located in the upper-right corner of any page to upload your résumé and complete a short online application. You can also click on the Job Board link to review our open jobs and apply for any that you feel are a good match. We’ll then contact you if your skills and experience meet the requirements of an open position or match what our clients typically look for.

Is SMS a temporary service?
No, most employment opportunities available are full-time positions. Most assignments are long-term contract employment, where SMS assumes the role of the employer of record. Many assignments transition to direct hire with our client (the employer), after 90 or 180 days of employment. Some assignments through SMS are temporary, so please ask.
How long are assignments with SMS?
The length of employment is determined by our clients. Most employment opportunities through SMS are long-term, full-time opportunities, but some are temporary in nature.
Is SMS felony friendly?
Yes, SMS Staffing Solutions complies with laws that govern the use of criminal background history in determining eligibility for employment. Ultimately, however, the final decision is made by our clients, and each assignment is different, depending on the security level required.
What are some of the benefits of working with SMS?

One of our Service Specialists will contact you if your skills and experience match the requirements of the positions available. Our staff receive new requests daily, so continue to check the Job Board frequently for updates. Please call in once per week and give your availability over the phone, at 313-827-1000.

I was interviewed. Why haven’t I been offered a job yet?

There are many possible reasons. Maybe the assignment you applied for has already been filled or your experience does not quite match the client’s needs. We have new job openings every day, so we recommend that you keep an eye on the Job Board and select the “Apply Now” link for other assignments that are a good fit.
